The Creeping Shadow

Europe’s Great Reset into the China Model
All of the Communist Parties, upon attaining power, have become completely merciless. But at the stage before they achieve power, it is necessary to use disguises. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Europe’s Authoritarian Alignment
Now, the lens shifts to a darker scene. Europe, once the cradle of Enlightenment and a proud pillar of liberal democracy, is sliding toward authoritarianism, propelled by the WEF’s Great Reset. This is not a haphazard drift; it seems like a willful march, silencing free speech, erecting a surveillance state with Digital IDs and currencies, and rigging elections to prop up a political class wedded to centralized control.
The China Model
To grasp Europe’s trajectory, we must first understand the China Model that Schwab extols, a system of unyielding control masquerading as progress. In China, the Communist Party reigns supreme, brooking no opposition or free elections; Xi Jinping’s edicts are law, dissent extinguished with brutal efficiency, think Tiananmen Square in 1989 or Hong Kong’s 2020 National Security Law, where protests dissolved into arrests and silence.
Compliance is the only game in town. Schwab, in a 2022 China Global Television Network interview, called this a “role model,” sidestepping the carnage to laud “tremendous achievements.” His Great Reset vision, technocratic order, centralized authority sees China as the ideal, a template Europe’s elites appear to echo.
Free Speech Caged
Across Europe, free speech is buckling under laws that copy China’s censorship, driven by the Great Reset’s demand for conformity. The EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA), enacted in 2022 and fully enforced by 2024, stands as the cornerstone, mandating platforms to remove “illegal content”, hate speech, disinformation, threats to “public order”, or face fines of 6% of global revenue. Even Elon Musk’s X, a free speech holdout, bent under the pressure.
Germany’s NetzDG, since 2017, forces platforms with over two million users to purge “clearly illegal” posts within 24 hours or pay €50 million, hate speech includes not just slurs but critiques of migration or Scholz’s leadership, blurring dissent into danger. Spain’s Organic Law 4/2015 jailed rapper Pablo Hasél in 2021 for lyrics and tweets scorching the monarchy and police; political defiance, not extremism, landed him behind bars.
Germany’s reaction was swift and icy. Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in a press scrum hours later, dismissed Vance as “an American meddler” and defended the laws: “We won’t let billionaires or their lackeys destabilize our order.”
Less than a week later, on February 20, Germany’s Interior Minister Nancy Faeser doubled down on 60 Minutes. Asked by Lesley Stahl about Vance’s critique, Faeser justified the restrictions: “Words can wound as much as weapons. We have a duty to curb hate, even if it means hard choices.” She cited the Magdeburg attack as proof, sidestepping how “hate” often tags immigration skeptics—revealing the socialist creep Vance had skewered.
This is not isolated. Italy, France, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, and Austria wield similar digital hate laws, each expanding the socialist creep, trans rights edicts, misinformation crackdowns, that the WEF champions.
At Davos 2025, Scholz responded to Musk’s Alternatives for Germany (AfD) support after Magdeburg’s Islamist attack: “Everyone can speak, even billionaires, but not if it’s extreme-right”, a line less about swastikas than protecting his globalist perch. Spain’s Pedro Sánchez, on January 8, echoed the call, decrying Musk’s X posts as a “far-right” menace, urging a “robust defense” that recalls Hasél’s fate. Hillary Clinton’s 2023 CNN nod to the DSA as a “model” ties it to the WEF’s script: control over openness, a page from China’s playbook.
Surveillance and Digital Chains
As Europe’s speech falters, a surveillance state rises, its tentacles coiling around every citizen in a way that mirrors China’s tech-driven leash, a cornerstone of the Great Reset’s vision. The EU’s Digital Identity Framework, cemented by Regulation 2024/1183 and mandated for rollout across all 27 member states by 2026, promises streamlined services but delivers a leash.
The Digital Euro, unveiled by European Central Bank Chief Christine Lagarde on March 3, 2025, for an October launch, tightens the noose. Touted as “a tool for compliance and stability,” it is a social credit Trojan horse with every transaction a loyalty test, every dissenter a data point. Europe’s system could flag “disruptive” spending such as donations to AfD or anti-green rallies, with a flick of a switch.
History whispers warnings we are being sold a lie. Governments have long peddled “security” and “societal good” to strip rights, only to hoard power. In 1933, Nazi Germany rolled out identity cards to “protect” the Reich; by 1941, they tracked Jews to death camps, a bureaucracy of annihilation. The Soviet Union’s internal passports, launched in 1932 for “public order,” chained citizens to cities and jobs, dissenters branded as threats to the collective. Each time, the pitch was safety; each time, the harvest was control. Europe’s Digital ID and Euro push smells the same, sold as a fix for modern woes, but poised to identify dissent.
The dystopian edge sharpens when you link Blair’s vision to China’s reality. We’re not told intent, just results, and the pattern screams crock: security is the bait, authoritarianism is the switch. Schwab’s China love is not a blueprint we have caught them tracing; it’s a mirror we cannot unsee.
Elections in Crosshairs
The Great Reset does not stop at silencing voices or tightening digital chains, it rigs the democratic game to ensure the “right” winners take the podium.
Over 100,000 Romanians flooded the streets by January, shouting “coup,” while whispers of Soros-funded Avaaz flooding the system with appeals remain unconfirmed. Breton’s boast wasn’t a slip, it was a signal: the EU, under the Great Reset’s sway, has tools to quash unwanted outcomes.
This is not a one-off. WEF heavyweights have long telegraphed their comfort with steering elections to preserve the establishment. Klaus Schwab has often demonstrated a skepticism of unchecked populism that is an anti-system movement. His Great Reset book doubles down: “Global challenges require managed outcomes, not chaotic voter whims.” At Davos 2025, Tony Blair echoed the sentiment, tying Digital IDs to governance: “Leaders need tools to deliver what’s needed, not just what’s demanded.” These are not calls for vote tampering, they are justifications for “correcting” democracy when it veers off-script, a playbook China’s one-party system would nod at approvingly.
European leaders’ reactions to Romania’s annulment, or rather lack thereof, paint a damning picture. Germany’s Olaf Scholz, quick to slap Musk’s AfD support as “extreme-right”, stayed mum on Romania, despite Breton’s EU brag. France’s Emmanuel Macron, who decried a “Reactionary International” (read: Musk) on January 7, 2025, offered no peep on Bucharest’s upheaval which seems odd for a self-styled democracy champion. Spain’s Pedro Sánchez, railing against Musk’s “heirs of Nazism”, ignored Romania’s two million voided votes. Poland’s Donald Tusk, launching his “Electoral Umbrella” in February 2025 to scan “foreign interference,” hasn’t uttered a word on his neighbor’s crisis, a silence that shields his pro-EU coalition. The UK’s Keir Starmer, jailing tweeters post-Southport, dodged it too. Only Hungary’s Viktor Orbán broke ranks, calling it “an EU power grab” on December 10, 2024, via state radio, which is perhaps unsurprising, given his own battles with Brussels.
Romania’s erasure of Georgescu was not a glitch; it was a feature. Poland’s Electoral Umbrella buries anti-EU posts under the DSA’s “disinformation” axe; Germany’s courts slashed AfD funding in 2024 over “extremism”. EU “democracy funds”, €1.5 billion since 2020, fatten favored NGOs and globalist darlings like Poland’s Civic Platform and Spain’s PSOE, while Orbán’s 2022 win faced “irregularity” probes of funding. State media plays out its role; The UK’s BBC, Germany’s ARD, and France’s TF1 smear “far-right” foes. It’s a machine: censor, starve, twist, ensuring dissenters like Georgescu or Weidel don’t just lose, but vanish.
The Great Reset’s elite do not need to justify interference; they have built a Europe where only favored parties, those toeing the globalist line, can win. China’s one-party shadow looms.
A Fractured Alliance
The evidence piles high: the DSA’s censorship net, Digital IDs poised to track dissent, and Romania’s annulled election signal a Europe ready to trade liberal democracy for technocratic control. Schwab’s 2022 praise, “China is a role model”, once sounded aspirational; now it reflects a continent drifting from America’s orbit into Beijing’s shadow. The transatlantic alliance, forged on shared values of freedom, teeters as Europe’s BRI ties deepen this realignment, leaving the U.S. isolated and NATO a hollow shell.
The willingness is palpable. Scholz’s January 2025 Davos shrug at “extreme-right” speech, paired with Sánchez’s call for a “robust defense” against Musk’s dissent, nods to a China-like intolerance for disruption. Blair’s Davos vision of Digital IDs as a “political benefit” and Lagarde’s Digital Euro as a “compliance tool” echo China’s social credit system, a Schwab favorite, where behavior bends to state will. Breton’s boast, “we did it in Romania, we’ll do it in Germany” and the silence of Macron, Tusk, and others on Bucharest’s two million voided votes suggest a comfort with “managed outcomes,” as Schwab put it in 2020.
Europe’s leaders aren’t resisting this drift, they appear to steer it, their hush on Romania a tacit green light to erase threats to the establishment. The socialist creep, trans laws, climate edicts, misinformation purges, cements the shift, all WEF obsessions mirrored in China’s state-first ethos.
This threatens the transatlantic alliance at its core. Once, Europe and the U.S. stood united on liberal democratic values, free speech, fair elections, individual rights. Now, Vance’s February 2025 Munich warning, “you’re strangling it” meets Germany’s defiant “words can wound” retort, a rift widened by Europe’s authoritarian turn. America’s own battles dim its light, Big Tech curbs, election rows. But it clings to its First Amendment as Europe’s DSA claws globally, clashing with U.S. norms.
The US / Europe boat is not rocking, it is sinking, and Europe appears to row toward China. The transatlantic fracture isn’t just a crack; it’s a chasm, with NATO’s soul and America’s clout on the line. Liberal democracy’s fraying leaves America a solitary torchbearer.
Has Europe moved to a WEF model or China’s? Ultimately, does it matter? The models are mirrors. The only question is whether there is unity or just a reflection. This will be examined in future Newsletters.
But for now, we are witnessing the Great Reset in action across the Atlantic.
And Finally…
Europe’s slide into authoritarianism isn’t just a distant tragedy, it is a glaring warning. The United States under Biden watched it happen with hands in its pockets. Look at the pattern: China snatched Panama’s Canal while Washington whistled, and across Europe, Beijing’s Belt & Road tentacles tightened around supply chains as the U.S. shrugged. Our closest ally of seven decades was left to drown in censorship, digital chokeholds, and a uniparty sham masquerading as democracy. For four years, Biden’s crew did worse than ignore it, they greenlit it.
Only on January 20, 2025, did the tide shift. Now we are forced to ask: was this negligence, or something darker? Did the World Economic Forum’s elite puppets pull America’s strings, steering us into a European-led abyss for the first time since we broke free in 1776?
Next Time
In an upcoming newsletter, we will review the past 20 years in the US and examine how Obama, and more lately Biden, paralleled WEF / Soros goals through censorship, election irregularities, funding of NGOs for political gain and more. Was the US supposed to mirror Europe? Was November 5th, 2024, the US’s second independence?
